“Watch the sunrise at least once a year, put a lot of marshmallows in your hot chocolate, lie on your back and look at the stars, never buy a coffee table you can't put your feet on, never pass up a chance to jump on a trampoline, don't overlook life's small joys while searching for the big ones.” ~ H. Good Morning World!...
Hi all... had a good week and things have been busy as usual... with the 4th of July holiday in the middle of the week it made things seem like a double week..
Went to the Mt. Shasta Run/Walk with Wendy, Britt, Tegan..her sister in law Kristie, and her husband Cliff and their 2 children...we all spendt about 2 or 3 hours together enjoying the festivities..it was early so wasn't so hot and miserably hot...after we parted ways..(we all drove separate cars) Wendy went home, Brittiany stayed with friends, & I went to visit Christine Gannon to catch up and do some TCF business... had a great visit with her got to see her plans for moving to Trinadad as she will be going to school to get her Masters degree for the next 2 years... what a giant feat to accomplish... cheering her on...! ::)))
I then left her place and went right past the Fish hatchery and there were signs there for a quilt show..so thought I'd run in quickly and check it out... I was disappointed..only about 15 or 20 quilts on one wall...very small but beautiful ones...so decided it was time to get on home...Mack was all by himself... when we got home we went to Walmart and Raleys to get a few things...and came home and ate dinner and watched TV..uneventful evening... no fireworks no excitment... oh well..can't have each and every minute thrilling... haha! We had a good evening..played checkers together --our new game..but he beat me...ugh.
the rest of the week has been just working... it has been kinda medium busy...not crazy...steady though. When I was going to work yesterday I had a funny thing happen.. I was following a truck on Old Westside and it looked like a man and a girlfriend sitting close in the front seat..couldn't see very well as I was far back..but I kept thinking..how sweet..they are such a cute couple...etc... all sweet thoughts were coming to mind... and then when we got up to Hwy 3 and made the right turn..I realized it wasn't a woman..it was his Dog...!!! how funny.... so I grabbed my camera and saved the moment..here are the photos.. You just gotta grab those moments in time to share here! ha ha.. I was laughing about it all day...silly me...little things make me happy..
Well, am working on a new quilt..called "Scrappy 9 patch" it is for Robby and Sarah...which their wedding is Aug 4th..2012... her colors are Tangerine, cornflower blue, and jade green..so found all variations of those colors and am working on getting it together...
I finished 2 quilts in the past 2 months...for wedding presents also.. I am beginning to get the zeal for sewing and finishing projects again... that is amazing...have waited along time for this accomplished feeling to return to me...I am always happy when I finish things that really don't have to be made in the first place...haha...
At Susanville this year..I sewed all week... finished a quilt..worked on Starlight Starbright, and got the trim on Eric's long awaited quilt also... it looks fantastic...! just got so inspired and had a great time sewing with all the ladies there...and getting to know Donna better... good productive week...
Well, must go now and sew for 2 hours til I have to get ready for work 12-9 ugh..
til later,
BJM
