After a discussion on child rearing this morning while walking with Sharon
Good Morning World!...
Sharon and I had a long discussion on different styles of child rearing...it left her feeling like I was not in her ball park and she called after she was finishing her walk...and wanted to make sure I was not upset... I wasn't upset at all...just wanted to interject that I had a childhood of not being told to do chores at all...and she knew how to do chores out of living on a farm....I learned the hard way..and see now I could have been a much bigger help to my mom growing up...Mom and Dad were wonderful parents and didn't worry about the stuff that could get wrecked...so we were hard on our stuff...and they never put higher importance on things and made us feel secondary.
I don't really know if how I raised my chilren was like that or not...but I do think I thought of chores for them to do...and always let them have fun...I know I was determine to do things different....my way and try to teach the kids lessons along the way...Mostly I wanted to teach them too have fun and play and do their work also...that is a tough balance to find.
Our discussion arouse from discussing grandchildren and how they are expected to know their duties...and that is where our thoughts came from... It was a good hearty discussion..

It was 30 degrees out this morning...burr.......and now I have a few things to do before I get ready for work...I was a 5-10...now I am a 1-10 :(

the New York High Line...fun to see what they did~
Fun to see what they made out of just lost space on top of buildings in New York! I would love to go again and see this ! My husband and I and Good friend Nancey and John & Amy from San Diego went in 2004 for both my husband Mack's & Nancey's 50th Birthday year!...what a lovely trip it was and quite memorable for all of us!... Our 5 days went so quickly...I think we need to go back soon!
Really,.....I do hope to see it again someday before it is too late ...life goes so very fast!

This post got lost for a month or so..sorry! Early Summer goings on!

Dear Family and friends...
It has been over a month since I really entered into blogging land...formally and alot has been going on. Lots of work, sewing projects, cleaning up after winter-time...and getting ready for summer. It has finally arrived today...it feels wonderful..and so I bought 3 flats of yello Pansys to plant tomorrow when I get off work. I have been doing my repotting of plants in stages this year, because it is usually overwhelming to me after I spend a whole day doing nothing else. So a hour here and a hour there...and that is much easier.
I truly have been enjoying having my daughter Teresa Jo nearby...it has been a double blessing for me...and each chance I get I run out to visit her. Yesterday after Church I ran out and we had a great hour visit and she made me a nice breakfast. What a pleasure to have this time with her. I have missed her for 7 long years... Since she left for SLO College days...
We just got back from taking Molly to the Vet again...she has been in and out of her favorite doctors office much too often lately.. she had surgery about 1 1/2 months ago on her torn ACL back leg...and has totally recovered almost...but now had to have a small bump on her right front paw checked... it is a "Wart" and he gave us some stuff to fix it with... poor baby..she won't like this I am sure.
We lost a good friend of ours in end of April..."Frank C. Barrett" one of Mack's close friends in the S.O. He had a sudden stroke/annerysim (sp?) and was only 44 years old. We still can't believe that he is gone so soon...we never imagined that something like that could happen to someone so young. The friends of him are putting on a Memorial Dinner to help raise money for his family...as he left a wife, 4 year old son...and step son also, and his mom. :( it was just tragic.
So now that Summer is here,....I don't know which way to go first... There are alot of avenue I want to explore and should get my list together for the season.
We do plan to attend Susanville Bluegrass festival later this month...and maybe get to go to Reno also...we will see...
Got to talk to my Son Eric many times this month............ Last time~~~~
I must take a break now...and promise to write again soon...Have a sewing alteration for a friend to get started on.. Yesterday I made a heater cover for a propane heater we have in our camper... it turned out really nice...will take a picture of my fine job of sewing...haha! {did do piping on it though, and haven't done that in years..}

April springtime
(My son...just got promoted to Seargent 1st Class, E-7) Yippee!!! Congratualtions Eric! Great Job) Dear Family and Friends... This past month has been full of fun and alittle sadness... I have been able to visit my daughter now about once a week as she is living in Big Springs now where the kid's Dad use to live before he passed away last October 2010. So I am enjoying the luxury of having one of my children nearby and available and it is such a new and different experience for me that I almost don't know how to handle the excitement. :) The weather is finally starting to warm up from freezing cold snow and rain...to alittle sunshine and green grass now. Mack has alot of Camper projects going on right now and keeps busy with his Banjo students on Tuesday & Thursdays. My sister Loretta came down for a nice visit in March as she need a break from things at her end of the world and we had a wonderful visit working on crafts, and sewing,...and computer...and she rested and read and watched movies alittle while I was at work...which was most of the time...Only had 1 1/2 days off while she was here...but it was good we just stayed inside and out of the snow. One afternoon we got to go out and visit Teresa Jo and Abram for a couple of hours. That was our biggest outting. So glad that she came down on the train to see us...and it was a special gift for us all... Our longtime family friend--Annalee Wilcox--passed away this past week [4/8/11]. She was like a second mom to me and taught me how to sew and was my girl scout leader also... Our families were close when we all were growing up and we spendt alot of vacations together...so many years were happy because we all were with one another... She will be greatly missed. They are having a Picnic this weekend at Clearlake where she lived in Honor and memory of her life. I am attending for sure and wish I would have been able to see her before she passed. Last year in March I went down for a quick 2 day visit to see her and it just wasn't long enough. She was very very intelligent and wrote the best letters to me ....I saved each and every one of them... I am thinking of maybe scanning them and putting them on CD for their family to have. It is so hard to know what to do for your friends after they have left this world...Just being there for them...is what is most important...and keeping up the communication is vital for the future memories. Well, today is work day (My wednesday) and I will have to start getting ready.. so much to do each day and not enough time to do it all. Wish I was retired. [2 more years probably] Haven't talked to Eric this week and last I heard on facebook was that he was in a baseball tournament over the weekend on his base...he loves baseball and is soo good at it also. So I thought that I would post them here also...and share with the world also...on facebook I have different parts of my life grouped with the friends that were part of that time...it is just a underlying hobby that I don't need to be doing but feel the need to dig into the past now...getting to 60 years old does something to the "psyhci" (sp?) as I want to put it into written form the way I remember it. My version of my world...Most of the time it was most extraordinary...and exciting due to my crazy decisions...

Dear Family and Friends,
Have decided to write alittle today...Woke up with a head ache and can't get started to be productive around here... Am on vacation anyways and don't have to push myself if I don't want to... we aren't doing anything special while I'm off.
Yesterday did alot of sewing on the quilting machine which Mack so dearly helped me troubleshoot last weekend...took us 2 hours for 3 days straight to get it right and up and running... but now is working like a charm...I shouldn't have given up so easily... So will probably get some serious quilting in this year and projects that should have been done years ago. Got about 1/3 of the way through the most important quilt that was promised over 2 years ago...and then on to the next one...which is almost ready to be done also... I love this..and think I could enjoy doing it almost every day...and not get too tired of it...
Weather is beautiful about 55 day and 35 night... not warm warm..but it isn't freezing cold either...that is great..but alittle more snow this year would be nice...The mountian is covered but need much more snow to make it through the year easily...
Today is Mack's day for Banjo Lessons tonight...has 3 or 4 students here on tuesdays and on Thursday has about 4 students up there...he likes it and is enjoying teaching ...easy for him...and good money! I am so proud of him to be able to pass on his skills on musical instruments...something that comes easily for him...
So guess I will get started around here..and maybe get something done...
Hope that you all have a wonderful tuesday...and are enjoying the New Year now... I just had my 60th birthday last week and so am offically in a new decade that feels alittle awkward...I am not sure that it is good yet...but I guess so..

CHRISTMAS 2010 WINTER
This was Mt Shasta the last night the kids were here......looks fun! {12-30-10}
I have been spending the day cleaning and re-organizing my computer desk...getting ready to make way for a new-to-me computer that Mack is retire-ing to me & for me!! ..actually it is like new the way he uses things... he got a new one for Christmas/birthday present to himself...and I get the old one...which is definitely a step up for me...the one I have been using for the last 2 years was only about $100.00 off ebay...and it has done just fine...I think Wendy might inherit my old one....she needs one that just doesn't matter what you do to it...
So....I got the area pretty clean and then Mack comes down and says that it isn't clean enough...so will finish it tomorrow maybe...haha!
New Years Eve 2010
..we had a blast...I worked til 6:15 pm and then headed home and changed to meet Mack at our neighborhood's bonfire for a few hours...It was great and I drank too much Champagne...and almost felt like I would loose it later in the night...but didn't and just went to bed before it was too late...
at least we had fun in the earlier part of the evening..haha!
The next morning
we made up a batch of Chili and invited over 6 or 8 people
for the afternoon to play bluegrass for the day...
But before we even made the chili...
Eric and Steve came over for breakfast and we enjoyed a nice homemade pancake breakfast with them...(made by Mack)...and they left and went back to big springs and locked up things there...and then headed back here about 5pm and said good buy...we took pictures etc...and watched him leave
(boo hoo!)...there was about 1 inch of snow on the ground
and it made getting out of the driveway tricky...
so I got to help alittle by keeping the gate open for them...
as they had to get a running start to get all the way out of the driveway...
{When they left in the morning after breakfast...I took a slip...on our front walk ...had the wrong shoes on...and landed on my elbow...it is alittle sore now...but no broken bones thank goodness--
wouldn't have been a great way to start off 2011!!!}
So today it is clean up day...and didn't get motivated to do much else...could have...should have...but just didn't.....!!!!
Here's to a Happy New year 2011 --it is already day 2...yikes...flies right by so quickly the older I get...
This year I plan to blogg more and keep everyone updated with things that are happening more...at least once a week!
